On Test: Lomo Dry Bag
Dry bags have transformed life on small boats and for those who have to dingy out to moorings. Many are surprisingly expensive, but that’s not true of products from Glasgow-based Lomo, which only sells direct from its own website.
I bought the 30-litre Dry Bag Holdall primarily to keep camera kit protected, but liked the wide opening so much that it also came with me on a series of 150-200 mile offshore passages this summer. It has performed exactly as expected, with the material providing sufficiently tough. Even better, when a wave generated by a stiff easterly breeze in Torbay flooded the cockpit of the RIB from which I was taking photos, my kit – including the laptop on which I am writing this – remained bone dry. Even the apparently impractical white colour has stayed clean so far.
Verdict : Impossible to beat at £24 price.
