Sailing Jackets

Sailing jackets range from inshore to coastal and offshore and offer increasing amounts of protection. Features of a good sailing jacket include a substantial collar that provides protection to the neck and rear of head. A good storm hood that can be adjusted which keeps most of the wind and rain out is also a common feature.

The jacket should be waterproof and made of a durable but flexible material with sealed seams and a good rating of both breathability and waterproofness.  Fleece lined hand warming pockets are popular and reflective panels to help find you should you fall overboard are useful to have.
