Lomo Waterport's Guide To

Loch Lomond Speed Limits

Loch Lomond is covered by a set of byelaws which include speed limits that vary  depending on where you are on the loch. Nov 2024 saw the introduction of new low speed activity zones which you can see in the video. The Loch is used by a wide variety of users and some, such as swimmers and paddleboarders are particularly vulnerable to powered craft when not driven responsibly.

In order to keep Loch Lomond a safe and enjoyable place for all, adherence to the speed limits helps to segregate different types of activity, allowing families to take their kids to a particular part of the loch safe in the knowledge that fast boats are restricted in that area.
