Kayak Trolleys work by supporting the weight of the kayak loaded onto it. The kayak is strapped down and the wheels of the trolley make it easy for the kayaker to transport and manoeuvre the heavy kayak to the water’s edge.

Do you need a kayak trolley?
You don’t need a kayak trolley, however, a kayak trolley will make it easier for you to transport your kayak and essential kit to the water’s edge. Save time, save effort and remove any potential barriers to your adventure. Carrying a heavy kayak to the waters edge is always an option.
What is the safest way to transport a kayak?
The safest way to transport your kayak from your car to the water is a kayak trolley. Keep your energy and your strength for the adventure. Using a trolley makes transporting your kayak safe (less stress on your body, less chance of tripping etc) and the energy you reserved from using the kayak trolley to transport may keep you safer on the water. Kayaking can be a strenuous activity, keeping your energy levels up before the adventure starts is key.
How do you carry a kayak safely?
We recommend using a trolley for maximum safety. However, if you must lift your kayak, do it safely by lifting with the correct posture. Start with the kayak in front of you, bend your knees, squat down, maintaining a straight back throughout. Lift from the cockpit and pull the kayak upto your thighs, knees are still bent. Stand up, keeping your back straight, let your legs do the work. Rotate the kayak around to your shoulder. Repeat to place the kayak down.
How do you transport a kayak by yourself?
The best and safest way to transport a kayak by yourself is by utilising a kayak trolley. A kayak trolley is especially recommended if you have lots of gear, say for a multi day sea kayaking adventure, fishing trip or all day canoe adventure.
How do you attach a kayak trolley to a kayak?

Yes, we recommend using the supplied straps to secure your kayak to the trolley before transporting.
How do you attach a kayak trolley to a kayak?
After lifting the kayak into position, and making sure that the kayak is in the correct position, straps are used to secure the kayak or canoe to the cart.

All our kayak trolleys can take large kayaks up to a maximum weight of 60kg, with the average kayak weighing between 10 and 40 KGs ( 20 to 80 lbs) there is plenty of redundancy left to carry kayaking kit, fishing kit, camping gear, food, paddles, dry bags and more.

What is the best canoe cart?
This depends on a number of factors. The kind of canoe or kayak that you have, the weight of your boat, compact/ foldable design of the trolley, the materials, the price etc. Look at the available options and determine which is best for you. Variations include the price, how heavy the trolley is, how much weight the trolley can carry, how small the trolley can fold down, and whether the trolley is modular making it easy to assemble, disassemble, transport and store.
How do I clean my Kayak trolley?
Our Kayak Trolleys are either made from anodised aluminium or plastic both of which are resistant to corrosion. However, we recommend that you wash down your trolley after every use with fresh water. A simple rinse is usually enough to remove salt, debris, muck, mud etc.

Can I store my kayak trolley in my sea kayak hatch?
This depends on the size of the sea kayak, the size of your hatch, the size of the kayak trolley, whether the trolley is foldable or modular and the amount of other kit you need to carry. However, if you have measured everything and purchased the right kayak trolley there is no reason why you can not find a kayak trolley to fit into your sea kayak’s hatch. Alternatively, you can lash the trolley to the deck of the boat.

How To Use A Kayak Trolley?
Make sure the Kayak trolley is balanced and standing up. Lift one end of the kayak on to the Trolley. Lower the other end down to the ground. Secure the kayak to the trolley with the provided straps. Move to the front of the trolley, pick up the front and begin to walk.

Should I transport my Kayak upside down on my kayak trolley?
Composite kayaks should always be transported on their bottom using the cradles/ mounts of the kayak trolley. Plastic moulded kayaks can be transported upside down, right way up or on their side.

How do you store a kayak Trolley?
All of our Kayak trolleys have removable wheels and each folds down. We recommend cleaning your trolley, then if you have plenty of storage just store it as is. If you have limited storage, fold it down and store it away.
Can I carry my Kayak Trolley on my journey?
Yes, either by lashing it to the deck of your kayak, or by storing it in the hatch of your sea kayak or within the body of your canoe.
