The Lomo SMB9 is a self-sealing delayed surface marker buoy (DSMB) that is 3m in length and features an over pressure valve and light reflective strips around the top panel for improved visibility on the surface.
The size of this SMB makes it attractive to divers who wish to be seen at greater distances or in rougher water where smaller SMBs can be harder to spot.
This is a vital piece of kit when diving, especially from a boat. Quick and easy to deploy, this DSMB helps divers to be seen and stay safe on the surface with its bright colour and reflective strips. It can also be used to help ascent via a line at the end of a dive from the sea bed or wreck.
Inflation is made easy by air from a regulator through the opening at the bottom. The over pressure valve prevents over inflation and makes it easy to deflate the marker buoy after the dive and the D-ring aids easy attachment to the line from a dive reel.
The self-sealing valve prevents the marker buoy losing air once it reaches the surface. The transparent pouch at the top can be used to house a glow stick, for added visibility, and a velcro attachment is also present for attaching a message slate.
The SMB 9 wraps up neatly using the fastening strap and bungee so it is compact enough for transport.
