You would never see one of these giant swim masks in a swimming pool competition, but then we aren’t all competitive pool swimmers – and with mask-style goggles increasing in popularity over recent years it’s worth throwing one in the mix here, too. It might not be the most hydrodynamic, but if you don’t like the feeling of goggles on your delicate eye socket, or are a more nervous swimmer and prefer the sense of security a mask gives you, then the size of this lens coupled with the £13 price point will make you very happy. Despite the bargain price they felt sturdy and well-built, with polycarbonate lenses and a large, supple gasket that gave plenty of suction and certainly wasn’t budging mid-swim. Adjustment is via two buttons on each side and you even get a hard case. It’s worth noting that Lomo do offer the Vista goggle (£12.50) if bigger isn’t beautiful for you.
77% Verdict: Not for all, but if you want a mask for a budget price, rejoice!
