Lomo Winter Mountain Bike Gloves £13.50
Lomo’s winter gloves perform better than the price tag might suggest. The softshell material is comfortable and protects well against the wind and cold. They’re reassuringly waterproof too. The leather palm did leak through its stitching, but this area of the glove isn’t usually as exposed to the elements, so it’s not a big concern. We found the palm takes a couple of rides to soften up, but it has a good feel on the bar, even with its thin foam lining.
One thing we missed is some soft-touch material on the thumb for nose-wiping. The elasticated cuff makes them easy to pull on and off, and extends high enough to tuck into sleeves. You can even use your phone screen without taking the gloves off, although the fat fingers mean you need to be a little patient. With a good balance of feel, warmth and weatherproofing, there’s a lot to like about the Lomos. Luke
